A Trip to Manali | Manali Tourism Experience of Anisha

I haven’t really visited many places out of Kolkata and the only trip I have had abroad was to Bangkok. I am pretty sure every second person has gone there.  However, there was one trip that was my first one out of Kolkata. It was good enough for me, though not for some others. This was a Manali Trip from school. Since I am not really a very social person I was there with just two friends. My first experience of Manali tourism was still overall quite good. The school had arranged for a Manali tourism package which my mom sponsored and so I got a chance to step out of Kolkata.

Our plane was supposed to leave for Delhi at 8 am but it was delayed because of a cyclone. The airport did not inform us about it beforehand. We waited at the airport till 10 pm. Everyone finished their money buying food to pass the time. The rush to find a free charging port was completely crazy but I was excited because I had an actual phone with me.

Like being stuck at Level 1 of a Videogame

Since my 2 friends, who were going to share the room with me, were with people who don’t like me I had to spend my time reading a book. I knew that was going to happen so it didn’t bother me. However, it felt like I had started a new video game but I just couldn’t get to the next level and was stuck in level one. That is how waiting at the airport for 14 hours felt like.

Finally, when we reached Delhi, we got on the bus to Manali. It actually felt as if it was from only here that we had started our Manali tourism trip. The original plan was that we would be staying in Delhi for the night and then move the next morning. I felt sad that we were missing out on the hotel food. But they gave us cup noodles on the plane so there was no problem.

We had breakfast and lunch on the way at roadside Dhabas. The scenery was so beautiful. The river gushing down, the greenery, and the dogs were looking like small wolves from a distance that were maybe pretty ferocious.

Our campsite was apparently in the place where the movie ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ was shot.  I was really excited about this cool Manali tourism place. We were made to wake up at 5 in the morning and the temperature made us all feel like wrapping ourselves in the blankets like a burrito.

Memorable Adventure

Our ‘adventure guide’s’ name was Negi and we would all make fun of his name. We also hate him for making us wake up at 5 am to exercise. After the morning exercises, we would go trekking or river crossing. The river crossing is basically a sport where a rope is tied to a rock which is on the other side of the river bank. We are to cross the river and come back the same way. The water was colder than the water in the fridge and within seconds you couldn’t feel your legs. It was really fun though and after that, I didn’t really feel the cold temperature. It was one of the best Manali tourism places anyone can ever go to.

The one thing that annoyed me was that everyone was fighting with each other. Even people who claimed to be best friends, and were now living together for a week, couldn’t even stand to look at each other’s face.

Human nature revealed

Even my two friends were fighting with each other so I had to split my time. It made me realize how self-centered everyone was. Always trying to find things that would benefit them and if someone stood in their way, they would simply shun them.

It is sad to see people fighting over things like who will charge their phone or who will go to the bathroom first. The tent in which I was, was the only tent not fighting about petty things such as this but the people sure were exchanging words on how done they are.

I’m not saying it was a good trip but there were enjoyable things about it. Since I do have a few more friends now, I would do anything to go on a Manali tourism trip with them even if it is for 2 days.
