Millions of Orphans around the world have no family to love and support them

An orphanage is the truest reflection of the most negative and sad state of society. That a parent can leave their child at the mercy of elements, dump them somewhere, can only be described as the most painful moment of separation for the child in question. The parent may have been forced by someone else to do so or may have been too scared to take up the responsibility of bringing up the child due to themselves being incapable physically, mentally, medically, financially or even socially.

The reason can be of any kind, but what is the fault of the deserted child? How would you feel if you were in that child’s place? Think for a moment. Brought into this world, then deserted in a garbage dump, or left at the doors of an orphanage, with zero hope of receiving love, care and protection from your birth-giver, ever? It’s a cruel world out there.

Some solace is there in the form of an orphanage, thanks to the kind-heartedness of individuals who dedicate themselves to running such an institution. Atleast the child will be clothed, fed and cared for till the time some kind person decides to adopt them. Even though the mere existence of an orphanage tells us about the cruel side of life, of symbolizing abandonment, it also symbolizes hope for the ones who can’t fend for themselves. The society at large needs to do a lot for them, in whichever way possible, for an orphanage, so that innocent lives are not lost, for unfortunate reasons of human frailty.

Daulat Public School – NGO

There is an NGO named Daulat Public School in Purulia, started from 2010, with two orphans. It is situated at Belabohal village in Purulia. At present there are 53 orphans in their organization. Apart from these orphans, children of this area and surrounding villages come to study at the NGO. These visiting children are served food once a day. Food is the motivation for these children to keep coming because the area is a Maoist stronghold and thus development is hardly there and poverty and hunger are the mainstay.

She has been working tirelessly for the NGO and has the concern of the orphans at heart, and is always worried about how to solve their health related and other general issues.
